Dyble report finds breaches of conduct, mis-use of government resources
VICTORIA/CKNW (AM980)

3/14/2013

The Dyble report (read highlights of the report here) on the ethnic voting scandal is out and it's more bad news for the BC Liberals.

REVIEW OF THE DRAFT MULTICULTURAL STRATEGIC OUTREACH PLAN

John Dyble has identified partisan activity among some government officials that breached the public service standards of conduct, and that some government resources were mis-used as part of this botched and flawed ethnic outreach plan.

The report finds some officials did not draw a boundary between their partisan and government roles, inappropriate activity occured around the procurement of community liason contractors, confidential information such as contact lists from government events was inappropriately sent to personal email accounts and there were two serious instances of government resources being misused.

There was no evidence in this report that Premier Christy Clark was aware of or participated in anything inappropriate.

However, former cabinet minister John Yap is on record in this report as saying personal emails were being used to avoid Freedom of Information.

The Premier, in a written statement, says she accepts all of the recommendations.

One recommendation here is to consider further disciplinary action.

To think that Clark had no idea about this, is just about the funniest thing I have ever heard! She and Kim were long time friends and her direct right hand. That's okay, she needs to be kept propped up in order for the NDP to have a landslide!

Our recommendation that all government employees be fired on the sport, no severance, all contractors be terminated and fired. Christy Clark and John Yap, they should have been on top of this!

Premier ELECT Clark doesn't know what is going on in the Premier's Office.
If that's the case, how could she possibly be capable of overseeing the entire Province?
Her grade 12 level of education is starting to show.
    1. 4645 posted on 03/14/2013 12:51 PM
@GaryL_15 And what's your level of education? I'm guessing you are going to say a master's degree.

@GaryL_15 so anyone that only has a grade 12 education isnt qualified to have an opinion?

    Why am I not surprised?

@LorAx ...more weasel words..."There was no evidence in this report ..." . However, in an other report that statement could very easily change.

It's so difficult to believe that Christy Clark says she wasn't involved or knew anything in these discussions/emails, give me a break! I think the NDP has more info to implicate her,, stay tuned. Never a dull moment in BC politics!

It's official- the BC Liberal government under the leadership of our unelected MILF Premier is totally bereft of any moral compass and do not deserve to be re-elected. Stick a fork in them, they're done.
    1. 4645 posted on 03/14/2013 02:31 PM
@LoniE I'm assuming that you're an NDP supporter. Do you call all woman of a certain age a MILF? You show your support for women in your party by denigrating women in other parties? What do you call women in their twenties that are Liberal supporters?

No one should be surprised-except that Premier Clark has no prior knowledge of what goes on ...but, demonstrates leadership after the fact- her staff are constanting pushing her personal agenda... wink! wink! That this culture of secrecy (and offensive strategies) were being hatched in the PO (Premier's Office), also poses the question:

"What else is going on in the various ministries of a similar nature?"

That she has the unconditional support of her caucus and cabinet suggests that there may be other covert agendas at play. That's my opinion.
  13. Ron_26 posted on 03/14/2013 02:00 PM
There are no excuses for this behaviour and those guilty should be sent packing. That goes for any government official in the wrong.
That being said, at this point I don't see a party with clean hands. What's more, Adrian is personally guilty doesn't deserve leadership. Therefore, my support is with the party with the closest ideology to my own. In my opinion a strong economy, justice and infrastructure are key to the health and strength of this and the next generation and, if they can pull it together, my vote will stay Liberal.
I am not blind, but hopeful. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but I will not be without principle.
    1. insite posted on 03/14/2013 02:39 PM
@Ron_26 Such views are absolutely typical of those who will accept any level of corruption and scandal as long as that party in power represents their political idealogy. Sometimes, it fits with the agenda that "the end justifies the means."

Unfortunately, that kind of blind thinking leads to more corruption, more scandal, etc. Political parties are no different from my pet dog (Sorry, if I offended him). They (in this case, the BC Liberals) will continue to whatever earns them a pat on the head or a treat. If I reward my pet for peeing in the house, he will continue to do so.

So, if voters re-elect the BC Liberals, they will be doing exactly the same thing. They will encourage more corruption and scandals. But, that is apparently fine because the BC Liberals represent their political beliefs. And, do you know what? More and more people will want to benefit from corruption.

When you wake up and find out that you are the only one not benefitting, it is too late.

Our right to vote should not be taken lightly. Other governments have had their share of scandal and fiscal mismanagement, lying to the voters, tearing up contracts, etc. It is not limited to the BC Liberals.-not by a long shot.

Voters need to consider the record of the governing party when they cast their votes.

At least, that's what happened in 2001, 1991, etc. Two unpopular governments were thrown out.

Brian Topp was involved in a scandal when he was deputy chief of staff to former NDP Premier Roy Romanow in Saskatchewan in the sale of a government crown corporation in document fabrication.

WHAT DOES ADRIAN DIX DO? IS BRINGING HIM IN TO B.C. TO BE THE BC NDP CAMPAIGN MANAGER.

The way all the parties behave these days is disgusting. I believe it doesn't matter who is in control, eventually it starts to go to their head and feel they can act without regard to their constituents.
I am not a big NDP fan and in fact in past supported the Liberals, but enough is enough. We need a change / shake up in B.C.

I think we would be better off selecting a government like we select a jury. You receive notice in the mail, you've been selected for political duty, report to Victoria on the following date. ;-)

Hey we couldn't do much worse than what we already have.

Clark should resign right now because it's clear that she's way over head as the leader (not) of our province. Premier why dont't you disappear and take all your crooked party hacks with you. Good riddance.

Christy knew what was going on. All my close friends know what's going on in my life, why would hers be any different. She's known Kim Haakstadt forever. I don't care if anybody pursues this any further because the libs are so done. Maybe Jim Shepard and his alarmist group should have given more to the liberals. Maybe they don't like Christy either, they just want another government that pads their pockets again. Maybe Jim Shepard should move to Alberta.
    1. Ron_26 posted on 03/14/2013 08:37 PM
@AlfredO That's a whole lot of maybes. Maybe your friends don't need to know as much about your life as they do. Privacy is not such a bad thing.

Time for a real audit with someone who has authority....contet of the emails, date, times etc.....Christy as you say let's absolutely get to the bottom of this....let's really dig to get to the real story and costs associated....where'd you drum up 70 measly K without digging into this...it's a paltry amount....you my dear are a narsasiatic pathological liar, really woman you need help, you will single handedly destroy the liberal party to single digits in seats....you just don't get it....it's ego gone wild...you have literally become a laughing stock where people look at you and immediately say oh ya she's the one who lied and covered up but wouldn't admit it, forced people out of their jobs to cover her lies.
