Clark says she won't resign over bungled ethnic outreach plan

Premier Christy Clark wants to set the record straight: She will not resign as a result of the botched ethnic outreach strategy.


Clark was asked if she might step down if an ongoing investigation leads back to her.


She says it won't. 

"I've never seen the document, I had no involvement in the creation of the document so I can tell you I'm gonna make sure as a result of John Dyble's report, we are accountable, that this government is accountable for what happened cause it was wrong, and I'm going to take action to make sure we address those problems."

But that "action" will apparently not see the Premier following the footsteps of her Deputy Chief of Staff and Minister of Advanced Education, who have already resigned their posts.

    bctaxpayer: Clark will win her riding. If the NDP won government, and the riding went NDP, their member would still be a back bencher.

    So glad she's giving the voters of BC a chance to voter her out...especially since we didn't vote her in in the first place.

    Christy Clark is no different than Ralph Kline, Ed Stelmach, and Alison Redford in Alberta, no different than Greg Selinger in Manitoba, no different than Kathy Dunderdale in Newfoundland, and no different than Glen Clark, Dan Miller, and Ujjal Dosanjh, in B.C.
    All of these premiers were appointed as mid term premiers.

      I think he feels sorry for Liberal supporters and in the time honoured tradition of not kicking a man when he is down , he is refraining from commenting on the sad mess that the Liberal party in BC has become!

      @joes_2868 I can't wait to see the next angus Reid after the lates fiasco...numbers will change for sure...10 seats maximum no matter what Dybles one sided report says....people are not stupid they see right through that lying sack of shite premier...ya sure everything comes from her office but she has no clue what's going on....pffffft, don't you think we need a leader that's on top of things and actually running the show?

      She organized the entire fiasco, she the author who gave orders and Haakstad her lackie bit the bullet and did as she was told,now, she's toast....Snookie is here only for her pension she knows it's over, personally I'd rather vote her out....can't wait

    It is time for Christie Clark to take a self-inventory and look in the mirror. Who is she fooling? British Columbians deserve honesty, integrity, professionalism and respect. Words have no meaning whatsoever, unless there is action behind them. Charity starts at home with BC Children and Families, seniors and the disabled. You have been spending, spending, spending our tax dollars with frivolous ads. We know what you look like, we are aware that there is a bridge called "Port Mann". If you wanted to gain popularity, concentrate on families like you promoted in your election speeches. children, seniors, disabled are all part of families. It is time to take care of them . Your Work BC ads do not speak reality. Christie, hand the reins over if you favour families in BC.

As far as I am aware neither Christy or Dix have much to offer in the way of honesty and integrity ...and that's the problem coming up in the next election, it will really be a choice of "the devil you know..."

      @GretaR [deleted] Well stated with very nice words that I can't fault, but it sounds more like you're wanting a church, support group or civic club. Perhaps they should be stepping up much more. But Government is not in place as a charity organization but rather to govern.
