It looks as if the man who pleaded guilty to killing a Delta teen two years ago will have to wait a little longer to learn his fate.

The sentencing hearing for the man who admits he killed 15 year old Laura Szendrei at Mackie Park in September 2010 will take place in Surrey Provincial Court, but likely not as scheduled on Monday.

The crown says it expects the hearing to be adjourned as the judge awaits a number of reports required to inform his sentencing.

The man was arrested in February 2011 and pleaded guilty to second degree murder in October.

As the man was six days short of his 18th birthday, his name is not being released.

He faces life in prison with no chance of parole for ten years.

After all this time, the judge is still waiting for reports.I find that very troubling,to say the least.Once again, the criminal seems to be the one our justice system is concerned about.Maybe we need to think more about what Laura's family is going through, and GET THIS DONE.
RIP LAURA. All we can do now is demand that the justice system stand by your family. If this dirtbag never walked this earth as a free man again I would never loose a wink of sleep thinking that he had been mistreated by our systematic system of "injustice".What he really deserves is "life in prison with NO chance of parole".PERIOD.

DougB agree yours completely. Sadly in Canada we live with a legal system not a justice system, as a result the sentence will be light in keeping with all sentences handed out these days. In a relatively brief period of time the person responsible will move on with his life, we can only hope the Szendrei family can somehow find a way to move on with theirs.
