BC Legislature back in business
VICTORIA/CKNW (AM980)

A rarely-used institution known as the "Provincial Legislature" is back in business today for the first time since last spring.

"Her honour!  The Lieutenant-Governor!"

And the first order of business on the first day of the new session is formally ending last year's session.

"In closing this fourth session of the 39th parliament of British Columbia, I commend you"

Lieutenant-Governor Judith Guichon will be back in a few hours to deliver the Liberal government's throne speech which will theoretically lay out the agenda for the year.

But the real agenda is to shut the place down once again in just five weeks time clearing the path for a lengthy election campaign.

bctaxpayer: Only 3 months. How so? Once again for your information.

49% PLUS OF THE POPULAR VOTE EQUALS NDP GOVERNMENT

48% AND LESS OF THE POPULAR VOTE EQUALS NDP OPPOSITION.

If you cannot figure that out, then that is your problem. Do the math. Your math. Not math from the pollsters.

No legislature for the past 7 months! Where do I sign up for a job like that where I only have to work 5 months a year, but get paid for a full year?

bctaxpayer: You have the math problem my friend. I am not going to tell you how I arrive at my calculations.
You are a very capable educated person to do your own research on how I arrive at my calculations.
