Six recommendations have been made following a Coroner's inquest into the death of 18 year old Ashley Guiboche.

They include suggestions the City of Surrey, ICBC and Translink reduce jaywalking along King George Boulevard between 98th Avenue and 100th Avenue by building an overhead walkway to the nearby Skytrain station.

The jury also recommends all police vehicles be equipped with cameras which automatically record when lights and/or sirens are turned on.

Guiboche was struck by an RCMP cruiser in 2011.

The officer admits to being distracted because he was looking at his computer and he didn't have his emergency lights on.

People will likely not climb stairs to use an overpass. Put in a ground level crossing with pedestrian lights. Besides, people in scooters or wjeelchairs can not use overhead walkways unles there is an elevator. Too costly.
