An accident at a Ricmond construction site has left a worker fighting for his life.

Megan Johnston with Worksafe BC explains what she knows of what happened this afternoon at the River Green condo development site on River Road.

"Preliminary reports were that glass panels were being unloaded when one slipped and struck the worker and I understand that the worker sustained very serious injuries."

Johnston says fatal and serious incident investigators are looking into what led to the accident.

Ledcor is the the construction company in charge of the site.

I work on the River Rd. Site, and I will not comment much on the matter, as it was a very scary and heart wrenching sight.
What I will say, at this time, our prayers are and should be for his survival.

The glass that landed on him weighed over 400lbs and was dropped from more than 4ft.

This has affected most of the 200+ workers on site, including those who do not even know him.

For those of you that pray, please pray.

    Thank you.

How many job-related injuries/deaths have taken place on Ledcor job sites in the past 10 years? Could it possibly have to do with over-worked, underpaid, or not properly trained personnel being hired?

I too hope this worker is able to recover and live a healthy life.
