Surrey has now seen five murders this month.

But the man in charge of the local RCMP detachment says his message to residents remains the same.

Chief Superintendant Bill Fordy says based on the facts of this latest killing, his position hasn't changed.

"That, the vast majority of the citizens that live in Surrey are law-abiding people, and that people who choose to engage in a criminal lifestyle, whether that's in Surrey or any other region in the Lower Mainland, it is unsafe and the potential exists for you to either end up in jail or unfortunately deceased."

The integrated homicide investigation team is in charge, after a man's body was found Monday on the side of Colebrook Road.

Four other men have been killed this month in Surrey, two of whom had gang ties -- prompting Fordy to put out a statement about the dangers of gang life.

He adds Mounties decide case-by-case whether to warn the public about certain people or places.

The money is so huge in the drug trade I just wonder who is in charge! Maybe some of our politicians are bought and paid for! Anyone want to bet?I bet none of the Liberal/cons believe it is true or they would not defend so strongly or they just do not care if governments are corrupt! Just maybe the drug trade has been around so long but how long have the NDP run the show in BC?How long you say?I didn't hear you, how many year out of 45! Oh! you don't say, 13 really eh! 9 billion per yr in drug money for BC where could they be spending this money? oh! foreign investments for housing! No! you don't say. hummm! Go NDP Go

@Ken280 Well they were spending it at Glen Clark's illegal casino scams but have probably moved on to greener pastures.

It has always amazed me how a 64 year old cripple, driving a 2003 (small) SUV can get pulled over for ABSOLUTELY nothing, on our hiways and biways by the RCMP, yet how many black shiney Escalades with 6000 bucks worth of aftermarket wheels and tires pass by at one and a half times the posted speed. I visit Surrey at least once a month for 2 to 3 days, and it astounds me. If someone sat at the corner of 128 and 72, and counted the fancy Ecolades, Navigators, Cadillac pickup things etc, pass by with total disregard for traffic lights, and other drivers is beyond belief. Maybe the police are afraid to stop and check them out. They might get stuck in the office filling out "Unusual Occurance" paperwork. Irritate the obvious, and you just might get somewhere. Oh, and Go, NDP Go! Time for you to chime in, again, Chris.

Unsafe? and LOW potential to do what.......end up in jail that's what
But they are all KNOWN to POLICE

I hear the HAs are gonna open their OWN CASINO in Surrey!
strippers and poles included! Such good tax paying business men!
Is this what Chief Super Bill meant by 'law biting citizens'?
