Delta Police say the RCMP's Explosive Disposal Unit has determined a suspicious package found aboard a BC ferry is not an explosive device.

Constable Ciaran Feenan says police were notified around 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

The package was found shortly before the ship docked at Tsawwassen -- the ferry was coming from Swartz Bay.

"And shortly after 4:00, the RCMP EDUnit confirmed that the package was not an explosive device and it was unfounded."

The 3pm sailing from Tsawwassen and the 5pm return of that ship were cancelled.

Did anyone think to ask the Transit police if it was their's? I've heard they tend to leave things behind on public transportation after their exercises.
