BC Conservatives say Premier is wooing votes with Bollywood show

The leader of the BC Conservative Party is accusing the Premier of using the Times of India Awards show as a deliberate vote getting strategy.

John Cummins says Premier Christy Clark is looking to copy what happened in the last Ontario election.

"The Dalton McGuinty government using that as a springboard to garnering more votes out of the East Indian community. I think that is essentially what she is doing here she is hoping that the thrill of bringing these Bollywood stars to British Columbia will gain her some sympathetic support in the East Indian community."

Cummins says the liberals are using the show to try and keep a handful of BC ridings won by slim majority last election.

He says BC is also losing economically by going with the times of india awards and not the 'real' Bollywood Oscars after the election.

As a East INdian I totally agree with Cummings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The majority of BC'ers hate Clark and never listen to this broke a** station, so the poll being conducted today is skeewed towards the listening majority who are old, out of touch people who have not foud out about the Tunein app. on their mobile (if they can afford one) and listen to better content!!!

Remeber that guy who wrote to Phillip Till saying he hates SIkhs, then Bill Good had that show about the Indo Community and that woman calls and says the Sikhs who go to Costco in Blaine are "embarrassing" because the are buying bulk milk from a wholeseller!
This goes to show how the free enterprise coalition is BS and its supporters are delusional people. I mean the woman is complining about customers at Costco "Wholesale" (and Wholesale is on the big front sign) buying milk in bulk being embarrassing!!!!
As a Canadian born and educated South Asian/East INdian/HIndu/Paki whatever you righwingers call us now, I find these tactics by Clark to be damaging to everyone, this is why there is so much division and crazyness.
between the whites and the browns, one day we are heros, the next day we are terroriziorrs........

You have to hand it to the BC Conservatives-nothing gets past them. You mean this Bollywood deal was for the purpose of persuading people, particularly in the Indo Canadian community to vote Liberal? What will they think of next? Well, the NDP will be thinking of giving public sector workers big wage and benefit increases-but of course that would not be to "buy votes", now would it.

The problem is not Christy Clark-the problem is that the political system permits this kind of thing because government has too much discretion when it comes to the use of public money. And most people don't complain unless something like this happens, and it does not benefit them. We are bribed with our own money on a regular basis, and then when another group gets bribed, such as this case, some people get upset.

The solution is to unravel government and make it much smaller, and with fewer dollars that can legally be spent on a discretionary basis.

@Jartann I disagree with you about the NDP giving wage increase to the public sector unions. Adrian Dix is on record stating that the public sector unions will be sorely disappointed with an NDP government as he forsees no wage increases coming for the public sector upon the arrival of an NDP government. Adrian Dix has learned from the NDP mistakes of the past and the present and past mistakes of this Liberal government.

People want him to spout off all kinds of economic policies but kudos to him for wanting to waiting for the February budget and for being very methodical about making decisions and policy announcements.

And Adrian Dix has made an announcement that will partially meet your desire to unravel government and that is to have the auditor general oversee and approve all government advertisement spending.

Now, isn't Cummings the brightest bulb on the old Bow Mac sign? Both Milf and Campbell were always surrounded by Bollywood types. Look at all their old photo ops. This will go the way of the existing Moslem takeover of Europe. They will run the show, eventually.
Any outsider would think this award show support, with our money, to be shear lunacy! Does the State of California dish any money over to the Oscars? I'll answer that, NO, because they are p1ss broke, just like us. Milf is up to 27 million in waste. Certainly this province can't get any more bizzare, or will it? Maybe Coleman will do a guest appearance on VEGAS,(Tuesday nights at 10) to support his paltry income?

It's plain to see that risky Clark is desperate and is buying the E. I. Votes. The BC lie beral is indeed Corrupt. That is why risky is getting bumped in May,I guess Pammy will lose her traveling portfolio,at 135,000 $$$ what a bargain.

@wizaedoron: Sorry no sale. I don't trust the NDP on the public sector wage issue, and with good reason. They were full of assurances in the 1990's about "holding the line" and even before the LIberals were elected, they had to admit that there were so many loopholes that the line was never held. And, although the contract should never have been cancelled by the Liberals, the 11th hour deal with health care workers was a clear pay off. Dix was part of that process.

As for unravelling government, getting the A/G check things will not do the job. I mean downsizing. And, it is a conflict of interest for an auditor to approve anything-that is not the auditor general's job. I know this from my own professional experience-and in the private sector this kind of thing is totally offside. And,if Adrian Dix does not understand this it just shows how unprepared for leadership he is. Sorry Mr. Dix, the buck stops on your desk, not the A/G.

Just like crissy's wet dream of I really am a MILF or They like me they really do, the Bollywood show is just that. A dream show that means absolutely nothing where no awards are actually earned for good film work accomplished. It's only right that a production that has no meaning and really does nothing concrete is pushed by a preemie that does nothing and does nothing concrete except spend money like a drunken sailor. I have faith that the Indo community can't be that stupid?

I think the Indo_Canadian vote have a big surprise in store for Christy and Company. I think most of the high profile liberals will be looking for work come May 14. That includes Christy. I am going to volunteer to work for David Eby and I will be canvassing her constituents and reminding them of how badly she has mismanaged this province. I believe that because a lot of them are well to do, they will realize just how badly the liberals have handled things and won't vote for her but may vote for the conservatives. Doesn't matter to me, as long as she's gone.

America iron ore mined grade decreased (America domestic iron ore with an average grade of approximately 17-18%, well below the 33% six years ago), which would constitute United Kingdom's online website http://www.pldhs.com/ iron ore import demand support.
