M-L-A Slater to leave politics
VANCOUVER/CKNW (AM980)

Days after announcing he planned to keep his job as an independent, the M-L-A elected as a Liberal for the Boundary-Similkameen riding has withdrawn from the race.

John Slater is not talking to media, but he has released a statement blaming the "politics of personal destruction" for his decision.

He says the past couple weeks have been 'an extremely emotional roller coaster ride for me' and 'this brutal experience has shown me how tough smear --and fear-- based politics can be on people and their families.'

He also says, 'it is too high a price to pay, at least for me.'

Last week, high-profile Liberals claimed Slater was no longer a desirable candidate for the party because he had personal problems.

He responded by asking CKNW's Bill Good.... "since when did the BC Liberals ever turf an M-L-A for having one beer too many?"

If it's not new, it's not NEWS. This story broke Friday by Alex G. Tsakumis. Once again, CKNW shows up late to the dance.

Why all the hip hop in the news when in fact, it shows that John had no intentions of running as a MLA, even as a Liberal. He was elected in 2009, so it will not entitle him to a MLA pension which can only be taken out at age 65, but I think he did the smart thing because if you put the puzzle together, he has health issues, confidential health issues, not what we hear in the news, and health issues are number one of importance in everyone of us, instead of the dreaded illness of the hip pocket which is very sad but is true in a lot of cases.
Warren Buffet has had a bout with cancer. He is a billionaire many times over. A specialalist can not cure cancer with a cheque for a billion dollars. It is really amazing how many don't realize that.

@joes_2868 I would trade terminal unemployment for cancer any day.

Here a real story on YouTube you can learn to modify unregistered long guns to be more lethal killing machines yet Conservatives are oblivious to this since most of them don't have the intelligence to see both sides of the argument.
