Liberals make some gains in latest survey
VANCOUVER/CKNW (AM980)

The provincial Liberals have made some gains according to the latest approval numbers,  but pollster Angus Reid says they have a lot of work to do.

Angus Reid's Mario Canseco says while the Liberals gained two points in the latest poll, now at 31 percent approval, they remain behind the NDP who are sitting at 46 percent,  and he says they need more than a few percent.

"They've been gaining two points here - one point there.  We have less than four months to go before the election and what's important here is trying to sense of where is that base of support going to be coming from.

Canseco says the party is going to have to work hard to gain women and Metro Vancouver voters.

He says they also need votes from the BC Conservatives who are falling apart and hang on to voters from the last election,  16 percent of whom say they will now vote NDP.

its really hard to believe we live in a society where people actually support this nasasistic, lying, un-educated, un-elected, temporary premier. Her best before date has long expired. Its unbeliveable to me that the overwhelming vast majority cant see right thorugh this psycho. People need to educate themselves on whats really happening in BC politics, that means NOT following the main stream media whos is really being paid off by these crooks called "the liberal party"

Everyone should be ticked right off with her misapropriation of taxpayer money...(ie) 15 million in self indulgent advertisments on prime time hours.....

15 million people, think about the sheer stupidity of this woman.....remember that next time you need a CT Scan or urgent surgery....it all adds up and she could care less about you

Coalition voters note that the NDP can only form government with 49% per cent of the popular vote. If you go and do your own projection, you will see that the NDP will form the official opposition with 48% and less of the popular votes.
I have replied to Mario Canseco at Angus Ried about my calculations, but have not received an opinion.
The true poll is the actual voting day. Polling in Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario all showed the opposition parties with double digit figures ahead of the incumbent governments and after all the votes were counted, all incumbent governments were returned for another term.
9 elections have come and gone across Canada, and not one poll has been correct.

@joes_2868 and you know that how? You just openly admitted the following

"9 elections have come and gone across Canada, and not one poll has been correct."

So tell me Einstein precisely where are we are numbers wise? Exactly, you have no idea! thanks for coming out.

I actually voted for the liberals the first cpl of time but I find it hard to believe there are people who will vote them in again. Lets face it, Christy Clark would make a great travel agent when you consider how often she has been conveniently "on vacation" when questions needed to be answered but to think she is a good Premier?

As for the rest of the crew just look at the handling of the AG fiasco. They had meetings to tell us that they would be meeting to decide if they would keep the AG. It got so silly that they reminded me of the meeting the trees had in the Lord of the Rings to decide if they were going to join the battle. After what seemed hours they announced to the waiting hobbits that they just introduced themselves. I mean really?

I'm also reminded of the say "let he who has not sinned cast the first stone" when I hear their ad's reminding us of the dreaded fast ferries. Do they really need to be reminded of their past.....drunk driving premier, torn up contracts,BC rail,HST .....etc and thats within the last 10 yrs.

Put simply, the liberals need to implode and vanish and maybe the next crew will not be so arrogant as to think we are all just sheep that need to be led.

Even if it is true that personal income taxes were higher in the 90's, my wages were slashed by 15% by the "we-won't-tear-up-contracts" Liberals. Now that I am retired it is still 15% less. Id rather pay higher taxes than have to live another
    four years under the Liberals.

taxed to death: Take a couple days and do your own research and then report back to us, and then admit that the NDP have a long way to go to get to 49%.

You forget to realize that B.C. is an investment province. That means, some B.C. taxpayers receive lay off slips from their jobs when they decided to put in a NDP government.
B.C. business that give out pay cheques to B.C. taxpayer don't invest in NDP territory. Unless you are a taxpayer funded government employee, your union in the private sector don't cares what happens to you. They never miss a pay cheque!

In B.C. why did the first NDP government of Dave Barrett get voted out after one term?

Why did the Glen Clark government win a second term for the NDP with only a 3 seat majority over the opposition?

In Alberta, how come the NDP only have 4 MLA's?

In Saskatchewan, before the election call, the official opposition party, the NDP, had 20 seats. After the election they had 9 seats and even the leader lost his own seat. Why would the taxpayers blast the NDP when they were already in opposition?

Saskatchewan was once home to Tommy Douglas country. Today, Saskatchewan does not have one elected federal NDP MP. Why is that?

Manitoba NDP was re-elected in October, 2011 for a new mandate, and as of late 2012, the official opposition party, the Progressive Conservatives would win a election today. Why is that?

Why did the Bob Rae NDP government in Ontario only last one term?

Today, in Ontario, the NDP has 17 MLA's and is the third party. Why is that?

Quebec, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick do not have one elected NDP MLA. Why is that?

Newfoundland has 5 NDP MLA's. Why is that?

The Nova Scotia NDP won government in 2009. Since then they have destroyed Nova Scotia and are deciding not to call a provincial election until their five year mandate is up because of the writing on the wall, that the taxpayers will be voting them out, making them a one time government. Why is this?

Brian Topp, former deputy chief of staff to former NDP premier Roy Romanow in Saskatchewan had a major scandal in that he fabricated some important government documents. Adrian Dix has mentioned that he will be bringing in Brian Topp to be the NDP campaign manager. Why would he do this?

From 1952 to 2013, B.C. has had a total of 13 years of provincial NDP governments and 48 years of coalition governments. Why is this so?

THE ABOVE IS CALLED NDP CONSUMER AFFAIRS. IF YOU DO NOT TAKE IT SERIOUSLY, THEN WHY DO YOU TAKE CONSUMER AFFAIRS SERIOUSLY WHEN IT COMES TO PURCHASING SOMETHING THAT WILL BE PAID OUT OF YOUR HIP POCKET.

YOU ARE LIVING A LIFE OF DOUBLE STANDARDS. PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH! DON'T BE LIKE THE POPE WHO TALKS ABOUT BIRTH CONTROL BUT NEVER PRACTICES IT.

ANYONE CAN SHOOT OFF FROM THE HIP AND BLOW GASKETS.

NDP STRONGHOLDS WILL BE WON BY THE NDP. LIBERAL STRONGHOLDS WILL BE WON BY THE LIBERALS. WHOEVER WINS WILL ONLY HAVE AT THE MOST A 10 SEAT MAJORITY OVER THE OTHER. NOT ONE CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATE WILL BE ELECTED INCLUDING JOHN CUMMINS.

YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE BLIND TO THINK THAT A LIBERAL COULD BEAT JENNY KWAN OR A NDP'ER BEAT RICH COLEMAN. THESE ARE CALLED STRONGHOLDS.

OUR CONSULTANT, KEN280, SAYS THAT HE TALKS TO ADRIAN DIX AND YET HE SAYS THAT B.C. WILL HAVE A NDP GOVERNMENT AND ADRIAN DIX SAYS THE ELECTION WILL BE A NAIL BITER. WHAT A JOKE!

NOW, ANSWER THE ABOVE QUESTIONS WITH LOGIC FOR THE READERS TO READ.

DON'T ATTACK AND SHOOT FROM THE HIP. READERS CAN THAT FROM ANYONE OF THE B.C. NDP MLA'S.

AND LIFE GOES ON! AT AROUND 8:45 PM, ON MAY 14, 2013, WE WILL KNOW THE RESULTS.
IF THE LIBERALS ARE RETURNED TO GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS AS USUAL.
IF THE NDP ARE ELECTED GOVERNMENT, THEN LAY OFF SLIPS ON MAY 15, 2013 FOR SOME B.C. TAXPAYERS.

IF THE NDP ARE ELECTED, THEN THEY WILL BE VOTED OUT IN 2017, AND ONCE AGAIN THE COALITION GOVERNMENT WOULD HAVE TO GO AND TAKE DRASTIC MEASURES ONCE AGAIN LIKE BILL BENNETT AND GORDON CAMPBELL HAD TO DO TO CLEAN UP NDP MESS.

DON'T BLAME DAVE BARRETT, MIKE HARCOURT, GLEN CLARK, DAN MILLER, OR UJJAL DOSANJH, BLAME THE TAXPAYERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE FINAL SAY.

SIMPLE SOLUTION, JUST DO YOUR CONSUMER AFFAIRS REPORTING.

JUST COMMON PLAIN STRAIGHT FORWARD ECONOMICS.

taxed to death: PROVE IT! Amazing, how you took the easy way out once again. You are taking the easy way out just like your NDP MLA's.

Here is some examples: From Michael Smyth@theprovince.com

    THE NDP ON LABOUR LAW:

Would an NDP government repeal the secret ballot for union certification? "That's an open conversation" said labour critc Shane Simpson. Official policy position" Maybe, Maybe not.

    THE NDP ON WELFARE RATES:

NDP MLA Jagrup Brar went on welfare for a month and pronounced the rates "unacceptable". So would the NDP raise the rates? "We'll have to look at that," said NDP critic Carole James. Official position: Maybe, Maybe not.

    THE NDP ON TAXES:

Would the NDP raise income taxes? "We're looking at it." Dix said. "Will we look at it at the high-income level before an election? We'll look at that, but I think you have to take a look at the impact on the economy and make a decision about that." Official position: Maybe, Maybe not.

    THE NDP ON TEACHERS:

Would the NDP give teachers a big raise? "The government should negotiate in good faith." Dix said. What about the standardized reading, writing and math tests the teachers hate so much? "We need a government to work with teachers, students and parents to find solutions," Dix said. Official position: Well, you get the idea.

Dix's doubletalk is working like a charm so far. By just standing there, saying nothing and looking reasonable and non-threatening, he has built a huge lead in the polls.

Bob Simpson, says, "But if he starts pulling surprises on the public once he's in power, people will say, "Wait. You didn't promise this. You didn't talk about this. You have no mandate to do this."

Simpson says, "He should have the courage of his convictions. He should say preciously what he would do, and I don't just mean in an election platform brochure many months from now. He should say it now and say it often so it sinks in with people and voters are under no illusions" but it is not.

I feel sorry for you, taxed to death, you live a life of double standards and that is too bad.

@joes_2868 I asked Harry Bains on tolling roads and bridges and his response was that he would need to discuss this with Translink. In other words, they can do what they want.

Very soon, Dix and his party will have to answer questions and say how they are going to pay for promises. Same with Cummins. Same to be said for Clark.

Jane Sterk will just talk about the carbon tax on repeat.
