It is official an Oliver City Councillor, and former Mayor, will replace John Slater as the BC Liberals candidate in Boundary Similkameen.

In light of the controversy of the Liberals ejecting John Slater, Linda Larson says she would have preferred a better route to the nomination.

"That is true but I think you know controversy is one of those things that is going to find you somewhere if it wasn't this issue I am sure there is going to be others. I firmly believe knowing all of the background that the party has made the right decision both for John and for the people of this riding."

Larson says she has some concern about vote splitting with Slater running as an independent.

Marji Basso will run for the NDP, while the BC Greens and BC Conservatives have yet to name candidates.

Now it will be a easy sweep for the NDP,no problem.

bctaxpayer: Not any different from what the NDP did. Former B.C. premier NDP Dave Barrett, lost his seat in the provincial election, and thus could not sit in the legislative as leader of the official opposition.
He needed one of his MLA's to step aside and offer him to run in their place in a by election.
Bob Williams, former NDP Minister of Forests stepped aside on one condition.
HIS DEMANDS WAS THAT THE NDP PARTY MUST PAY HIM $80,000 DOLLARS IN ORDER FOR HIM TO STEP ASIDE.

    TYPICAL BACK STABBING NDP.

@joes_2868 lets see, he wanted a severence package for stepping aside just like how many of your liberal buddies are taking prior to this upcoming election. By he way he stepped aside for a premier these liberals that are choosing not to run are likely to get tossed out so they are taking the severence to save face, hypocrit.

brianP_1950: Like your NDP MLA's that are also not running in the May election. Some present NDP MLA's are also not running. RESEARCH BEFORE SHOOTING OFF FROM THE HIP AND BLOWING GASKETS!
YOU HAVE A SET OF DOUBLE STANDARDS. YOU CONSTANTLY DO CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHEN IT AFFECTS YOUR HIP POCKET, BUT WILL NOT TAKE THE TIME TO DO IT WHEN IT COMES TO A GOVERNMENT.

IT REALLY AMAZES ME, HOW MUCH NDP DAMAGE CONTROL IS DONE ON THIS WEBSITE.

brianP1950: You say the Liberals will be tossed out. There are 85 ridings. Please tell which ridings will not have BC Liberal MLA's.
If you would have done your research, you would have noticed that the NDP with 48% of the popular vote in B.C. will form the official party of B.C. You would also note that if the NDP receive 49% of the popular vote, the NDP would form government with a very slim majority.
It will take time for you to do this project, but the readers will be watching out for your reply.
