One man has been arrested after four others were shot last night during a gathering in Richmond. Police have confirmed they arrested a man shortly after gunfire erupted in a crowd of about 150 people at the Riverside Banquet Hall.
It happened after some men at a party to welcome new members to a local Longshormen's union got into an argument.
One arguer was shot as were three other men who tried to intervene.
They were taken to hospital, some in critical conditon but police say all four are stable.
Mounties add this shooting is not related to this week's gunfire in Surrey, but they're still determining whether or not it's linked to gangs. The president of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union of Canada says it was a private party to welcome new members, not a union-sanctioned event.
