There will be another last ditch rally this weekend to try and save the Kitsilano Coast Guard Base from being closed by the federal government.
Union of Canadian Transportation Employees spokesperson Dave Clark says the leaders of the provincial NDP and Conservative party will both speak at the 'all party' event.
"So far confirmed is Mr. Dix, Mr. Cummins, we also have Mr. Donnelly, and a couple of other community leaders that we just haven't put in place yet but we are looking at getting a whole party, every party up there."
As for any member of the bc liberal government showing up, Clark said...
"They have been invited we are just waiting for a response from them. We're hoping that they will come out or just give another letter of support as last time."
The rally goes at the Jericho Sailing Centre at 11 Saturday morning.
