The BC Coroners Service has been called in after a body was found Friday afternoon in West Vancouver.

"A dog walker out in the wooded area just north of the houses in West Vancouver discovered some human remains. As a result of this discovery she notified the West Vancouver Police Department and led officers to the site where she found the human remains which is just east of the first lookout on Cypress Bowl Road."

West Vancouver Police Sergeant Paul Skelton says volunteers from North Shore Search and Rescue retrieved the body.

Police say the body has been there for some time and right now the death does not appear suspicious.
