MLA denies reno wrong doing and wants info leak investigated

The Liberal MLA who chairs the committee that may fire BC's Auditor-General is denying any wrong-doing in some pricey renovations to his constituency office - and now he wants an investigation into a leak to the media.

Eric Foster says he didn't know Auditor-General John Doyle had concerns about the 78-thousand dollar renovation until this week.
Foster defends the expense and says Doyle's concerns have since been resolved - he won't release documents to back that up saying that would break the law, and he wants to know who leaked the Auditor's letter to the media in the first place.

"This is priveleged, this is a management document that's inside lamc, and that's priveleged information, it's not to be published.  Whoever leaked that document to the times-colonist is breaking the law."

Foster says he'll ask the House Speaker to investigate the leak and says he has no axe to grind with the auditor, whose future rests at least partially in his hands.

My this is really rich, a Liberal wanting an investigation into something that should already be public information – All the while all of the last ten years of shady dealings by this government.
Spending our taxpayer money to keep the Auditor General from finding out the truth about the BC Rail payout sham.
My goodness, do the Liberals really think the public is that stupid? Come May, they will find out for sure that we are not!
Mr. Foster – give your head a shake!

Just another example of the Liberals more interested in filling their own pockets and those of their Liberal friends you simply cannot trust a Liberal that is the bottomline! Isn't that right Ken280

Ken280: You are unbelievable Ken! Asking HUGHF to do something when he cannot even give the readers his answer for the other 9 ridings that will remain Liberal. Hugh has only said that Vancouver-Quilchena will remain Liberal. He has to name 9 more.
Ken, your stroke is on the way!
  8. joes_2868 posted on 01/09/2013 08:08 PM
Ken280: Shame on you! Asking HUGHF to do something. He has told the readers that the Liberals will only retain 10 seats in the election. He has only mentioned one and that is Vancouver-Quilchena. Let him try and finish his homework before asking him to do another chore.
Ken, the readers would like you to answer the following questions.

    1. Why did the Dave Barrett NDP government in B.C. only last one term and voted out?
    2. Why did the Glen Clark NDP retain government from the Mike Harcourt NDP government with only a 3 seat majority?
    3. Why did the Bob Rae NDP government in Ontario only last one term and voted out?
    4. Why is the Darrell Dexter NDP government in Nova Scotia putting their election call on hold and maybe not having an election until their five year mandate is up?
    5. Why is it that before the provincial call in Saskatchewan, the opposition NDP party had 20 seats and after the election was reduced to only 9 seats when in fact they were the opposition party going into the election?
    6. Why is that Saskatchewan, once home to Tommy Douglas country does not have one elected federal NDP MP?
    7. Why is it that the Alberta provincial legislature only has 4 NDP MLA's?
    8. Why is it that the NDP in Ontario has only 17 seats in the legislature and is the third party?
    9. Why is that Quebec, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island do not have one elected NDP MLA?
    10. Why is it that Newfoundland only has 5 NDP MLA's?

KEN, THIS IS CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS OF POLITICS!

TAXPAYERS USE CONSUMER AFFAIR REPORTS ALL THE TIME AND ALSO IN POLITICS.

KEN, ARE YOU TELLING US READERS THAT WHEN YOU GO BUY SOMETHING, YOU JUST GO TO THE NEAREST STORE AND BUY WHAT THEY GOT EVEN IF IT ISN'T THE MAKE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR?

IN REPLY KEN, LET THE READERS SEE SOME OF THAT CONSULTANT EDUCATION BACKGROUND INSTEAD OF BLOWING GASKETS AND SHOOTING FROM THE HIP FORMAT LIKE ALL NDP'ER'S.

@joes_2868 Still in suspense Joey? At my leisure. Not yours.

What was Mr. Foster's office like before hand? Remember too, it's not just his office, his assistants, respondents etc work there and people come to this office. But, I want to know what is his office was like before hand.

My neighbours live in a 7 year old home. Second owners, they renovated. I asked what was wrong and they said "nothing, we just want a bigger living room and kitchen." So if this office was renovated for a bigger office, there's a problem. Renovated for a nicer reception, then I am a bit okay with that. Let's see the before and after!

No, Ken, this is not a defection or spin. This is a simple question to the MLA. Did he spend to make his office look better because he could or because it was needed?

HUGH F: The election will be over by the time you give the reading audience your answer because you don't have one because it would involve doing homework instead of blowing off gaskets.
  11. joes_2868 posted on 01/10/2013 12:41 AM
HUGH F: Adrian Dix has just recently had a number of yearend interviews with the B.C. media. He says that the next provincial election will be a nail biter.
Please explain to the reading audience how you come to the answer that the B.C. Liberals will win 10 seats, maybe.
    1. commonsense posted on 01/10/2013 08:44 AM
@joes_2868 Come election day, people will be dead set on voting for the who they originally planned to, whether it's BC Libs, NDP, BCCP etc. Some will change their mind when they realize that they may have a government they don't want, whether it's BC Libs, NDP, BCCP etc. Some will vote with strategy. Some will vote independent. Some will choose not to vote since they feel they are all poor choices (and they are).

They're nail biters because you have to convince those who choose not to support you to support you and those who already do you have to keep. No one will get 50% of the popular vote, leader wise.

What was the line from The Who song? .. meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Won't get fooled again. Are you kidding. Politicians think (and probably know) there is no limit to the apathy. gullibility and stupidity of the voter. Until we start getting more DIRECTLY involved with our governments it's going to be SNAFU.

Sadly, there seems to be little difference between political parties and governments. You may ask why. Probably because we allow it with our complacency.

You think an NDP government is going to be BETTER? I doubt it very much. But still this bunch must be held accountable for their sins to the taxpayer. Taxpayers: Hang on to your wallets - no matter who wins. It's just going to be a matter of the degree of thievery.

When I rented my last office 2500 square feet the landlord gave me $25,000 toward leaseholds as part of the deal for the 5 year lease. So only a poor business person would rent without doing so. How about the details Eric now that you have shown to be inept, irresponsible or a crook. What happen to open and honest goverment because these liberals dont know what is means.
