Two men with gang ties have been charged after allegedly firing weapons at a Port Coquitlam gun range – and breaking their prohibition order.

B.C.’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit arrested the pair back on Dec. 21.

Matin Pouyan, 31, and Bi Dong “Adam” Lam, 25, each face a charge of possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.

They are set to appear in court in Vancouver tomorrow.

Pouyan has been involved in high-profile shootings in the past.

He served 18 months for a nightclub shooting in Abbotsford in 2004, and was shot himself in Kitsilano in 2009.

    Police doing a great job keeping on top of these
    delinquents.

    Now, only, if the courts would hold them truly accountable
    for failure to follow probation orders.

    Obviously, probation order did not deter them from target
    practise and why are they feeling the need to practise their
    shooting skills??

    If they are brazen enough to go to a legitimate target range to practise their skills at firing pistols = then heaven knows what else they ahve been up to .

    Maybe there is a message to BC judges here - ie stern warnings and prohibition orders are just so much hot air and wasted paper .

    These criminals don't take our legal system seriously - and won't until they and their families get hit with significant penalties, fines , travel restrictions etc

    Matin Bin Laden Pouyan, according to a news item elsewhere? If they convict him of anything, he should never set foot out of jail again for the rest of his life - because this makes him a suspected terrorist.

    I usually don't care much about spellink on blogs or comments as such....
    BUT when I see Canadians using American spelling rules
    I just want to remind you..........
    In Canada - it is PRACTICE not practise

    Just another LOST Canadian thing I want to keep as our own
    Please - at the very least TRY to spell like a Canadian - the RIGHT way

      I just feel like this is NOT the first time they have waltzed into a gun range and done this ....
      Maybe this time someone was actually watching?
      I bet this was just a fluke that they got caught!
      Or it was a slow day PoCo?
