Government dealing with possible Tamiflu shortage
VANCOUVER/CKNW (AM980)

1/8/2013

The federal government is working with the provinces, territories and Roche Canada to address a potential temporary shortage of the antiviral flu drug Tamiflu.

The Public Health Agency of Canada is seeing an early spike in flu cases and more severe illness caused by the flu than was seen in the last two years.

Health Canada has arranged to have some of the drug released from an emergency stockpile so it can be shipped where needed across Canada.

Here we go again! same sh*t different pile! Always a shortage of something means higher pricing.they knew of the hoarding of this drug before and never bought enough online this time! They were trying to force nurses to get flu shots because they knew something was going to hit us and hard! Now a shortage for the ones who do not want the flu vaccine! Come on Harpo supporters do the spin!

I thought that Tamiflu was proven to be crap in a package, that it does nothing to prevent, eliminate or even shorten the time you have the flu... It's my understanding that you basically stay home, drink fluids, get lots of rest and let the bug run its course. I wouldn't waste my money on something like this even if there was a lot available.

    is it my imagination
    (or just Tamiflu flashbacks?)
but doesn't this happen EVERY year?

    Kinda like when ICBC cries
    'drivers are makin claims'
    when it snows EVERY year!

Dreadful reporting on CKNW's part. There's an important fact missing that BC has a good supply and there's no problem here.
