A company that would like to run a proposed Metro Vancouver compost facility in Langley says there's no need for Township councillors to be concerned.

Councillors have expressed worry over possible smell from rotting food, and contamination of a nearby environmentally sensitive area.

But Sam Tamrack of Glenval Organics says they will stick to yard waste and clean wood chips only.

"The proposed building will be an enclosed system in the way of forms of leachate. Any leachate that would come off a pile would be recycled back into the pile, or put into storage holding tanks.

Langley councillors were also upset there was no public consultation.

Tamrack says they will be holding sessions in January.

    Hello black meet the kettle!!!

the TOL councillors are upset about NO public Consultation??
HOW many times has this happened to the public when the 'upset' councillors did NO PUBLIC consultation?? ummmmm pretty regular I would have to remind them??? most recently the magical millions that showed up - AFTER the budget was completed - to expand the useless LEC! And when the only sane, honest and realistic councillor calls them on it ir even asks a decent question or two - they SHUT HER DOWN and SHUT HER UP and give some lame excuse and use too may useless words to confuse the general public and pretend they know what they are talking about!! Liars liars - hope your pants catch on lots of fires!\
