A Vernon lawyer has pleaded guilty to associating with a gang.

In BC Supreme Court in Vancouver, William Mastop has admitted to participating in activities of a criminal organization.

He had been slated to go to trial by jury next month.

The lawyer was charged almost three years ago, and accused of associating with the Vernon-based gang known as the "Greeks."

Last month, five Greeks members or associates were found guilty of murder or manslaughter in the deaths of two former drug runners and a dealer.

It was BC's longest-running criminal jury trial, lasting nearly 18 months.

Mastop is set to appear next in court January 18th to fix a date for sentencing.

I can't help but think this lawyer is another victim of cannabis prohibition. The money this generates for gangs is colossal. I hear now gang members are piloting helicopters with no license.

Hmm......a lowlife weasel lawyer associating with criminal gang members - who had to lower their standards for that one ?

Seriously I hope this scum gets disbarred and ends up doing menial labor - it would look good on him !

@AldinaI Ok then here you go ......

How to tell your lawyer mite be gang associated?

      - He tells you that his last good case was a “Budweiser.”

      - He picks the jury by playing “duck-duck-goose.”

      - Every couple of minutes he yells,
“I call Jack Daniels to the stand!”
and proceeds to drink a shot.

      - He frequently gives juror No. 4 the finger.

      - Just before he says “Your Honor,”
he makes those little quotation marks in the air with his fingers.

      - Whenever his objection is overruled,
      he tells the judge, “Whatever.”

Ken280: I now it is hard on the hip pocket this time of year having to give out cash to the family members, but cheer up because the hip pocket will not cure you from a terminal disease. If you cannot agree on this, then it is time for INTERVENTION, Ken!
