BC NDP leader Adrian Dix says it's a positive the government has come to a tentative deal with the BC Government and Service Employees' Union.

"It's always good when agreements are negotiated and I think it shows in all negotiations it takes two to negotiate and it's always a good thing when things are resolved at the bargaining table."

Dix says he's also pleased with the government's decision to pull a u-turn over plans to privatize liquor distribution in the province.

Adrian Dix says the current formula is better for the long term.

"I'm very pleased that the government was forced to back down on the liquor distribution branch sale. It's something our critic Shane Simpson and Maurine Karagianis have been working very hard on over the last number of months. The government seemed determined to sell off the future to try and get themselves re-elected."

Now there is bonehead NDP logic at its best .." the Liberals were trying to get re-elected so they tried to sell the Liquor Distribution Centers ".

That the Liberals backed down from their plans is due to their desire to appease as many people as possible in the run up to the election

What a choice we have for the next premier - a bonehead idealog that at best qualifies for a low level civil servant position or a soccer mom that vigorously massages the truth every chance she gets.

No wonder BC is the laughing stock of the country

Adrian seems to have memorary loss. He was chief of staff to Glen Clark and Glen Clark was considering to sell off the total Liquor Distribution to raise some cash flow because of big debts.

@joes_2868 Dix has complete memory loss about his years with Clark ....and unfortunately so do many BC'ers

ChrisM_18, i think Dix was trying to say that in selling off the BCLDB to their political backers & donors like Exel Logistics, the Liberals would have secured even more funding from that corporation towards their (unattainable) goal of re-election in 2013. He wasn't saying that the absolute act of selling off the LDB would help the Liberals get back in office.

@JohnnyS You are being kind and assuming that he is an intelligent person like yourself ....I think you are overestimating Mr Dix considerably

The Liberals are cowards, pure and simple. So, the truth is out. ALL that matters in BC now is whether or not public sector workers are happy and protected. The rest of us can just go to h--l. Ah yes, the public sector does EVERYTHING better than the private sector because government workers are selfless servants, putting their personal interests aside to benefit the public, who they care so much about. So, please nationalize Walmart, Costco, Save on Foods to that the entire retail sector can benefit from these selfless hard working people, and there will be no "greed".

BC is run by idiots for idiots, and the people here will suffer the disastrous consequences.

@Jartann Well - you've had your two minutes on the soapbox to tell us what is wrong here ...now what are you going to do to help fix it ?

Once again the Dipper Dix sides with the Union whose greed and thirst for taxpayer money is ever relenting.
