"Brazen and deplorable."

That is how Surrey RCMP are describing a shooting in broad daylight in front of a daycare.

Sergeant Drew Grainger says a man sitting in the passenger seat of a car was shot multiple times.

Witnesses say there were two children in the backseat at the time of the shooting but the RCMP are not confirming that, only saying there were two car seats in the vehicle.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
