One of the three accused Stanley Cup rioters on the run from police and believed to be in the U-S has been apprehended.

Border officials say 21-year-old Dakota Schlag tried to get into Canada at the Peace Arch crossing this week.

As they questioned the Idaho man, border guards realized he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant related to the riot.

He was arrested and turned over to the RCMP.

Police say the same will happen to the other two accused on the loose if they try to enter Canada.

They are Jensen White of Seattle and Nigel Li of Vancouver, believed to be studying in the U-S.

An ounce of prevention vs. a pound of cure as they say. This is costing taxpayers a freak-in fortune after the barn door was left open by the Mayor of Vancouver in June 2011.

The Canucks playoff games were poorly managed by the Chair of the Vancouver Police Board Mayor Robertson. He should be caned or flogged in public for such a poor decision based on the 1994 disaster. Mayor B
Robertson either did not or failed to act on what a plan "B" might be if things got out of hand in the first place. He crippled his own police agency and while Roem burned he was at the game with no outside awareness of how the VPD was struggling largely with his mismanagement.

Shame on you Mr.Mayor for your poor foresight and I hope that you see this in the next election.

@RonE_1902 You are right on the money ther - but M)or Moonbeam being the greasy politician that he is passed all the blame onto Chief Chu - and no one has called him on it.

Full marks for Chief Chu for taking his time to gather all the evidence needed to make these charges stick

Shame on the judges for allowing these punks to walk away - once again failing the people of BC

This is a news story that may be old to some - but its a message that needs to be pounded into the conciousness of the next round of punks - the pointless rioting will not be tolerated

@YourAmericanMaster Nathan (the water polo punk ) is due in court in mid October from what I have heard . I don't know the charges laid against him but apparently he has pled guilty. As an underage offender he can't be named
I think all of us hope this punk gets hit hard enough that he is unable to go back to the USA to continue the fun he is having down ther - but the reality is he will have a very good lawyer courtesy of

Nobody said the rioters had high IQ's. Poor simpletons. Yet, all 3, and the rest of them are brighter than Moonbeam. MB is a bloody embarassment, and is so stunned, he smiles and thinks HE is just great. I only hope the Vancouver electorate have the moxxy to put the twit far far away from city hall.
Getting back to the perp, he didn't have a chance with the fools that named him "Dakota" Might just as well named him, "Dadummie".
