“I will look for you, I will find you.”
When Taken star Liam Neeson originally spoke those lines he wasn’t talking about lunch. Now? Maybe.
The Irish actor is making big waves on social media after he paid a surprise visit to a New Westminster sandwich shop that had set out an apparently irresistible lure: A sign that read “Liam Neeson eats here for free.”

Alex Johrden is Director of Operations at Big Star Sandwiches in New West, and explains how Neeson was ‘taken’ with their offer.
“Our manager Matt is a Liam Neeson superfan, and he had kind of kept his finger on the pulse and figured out he’d be down there,” says Johrden.
That prompted him to write the sign and put it outside, mostly as a gag.
“You know, as a joke. We had no idea he would actually show up.”
“So we had that out at about 11 a.m., and 6:30 rolls around and he walks in.”
Johrden says the staff were starstruck — even more so when the actor opened his mouth.
“And he walks up, and in his Taken voice says, ‘Where’s my free sandwich?'”
So what did the start sink his teeth into? Nothing, apparently.
“He, unfortunately, didn’t have time to eat as he was running back to set. He was kind enough to offer a photo-op with the boys and it made their day. Hopefully, we can get him back in to take him up on the offer,” says Johrden.
Neeson is in town filming another revenge film, Hard Powder, a Hollywood adaptation of the 2014 Norwegian film In Order of Disappearance.
