The Media Union of BC has ratified its tentative agreement with Postmedia.
Members voted 82 per cent in favour of the deal with Pacific Newspaper Group, which is a division of Postmedia.
Out of 210 eligible voters, 164 cast ballots.
The union says it will be able to save 21 out of 54 layoffs announced in March. It adds they have also allowed a further 20 members to voluntarily leave with either the Voluntary Staff Reduction Plan or through voluntary severance.
Unifor says Postmedia has the option to open the agreement for negotiation after 18 months, but only for a 30-day window.
