A video posted by vigilante group Surrey Creep Catchers Monday afternoon shows members of the group using force again to corner a man allegedly trying to meet a 13-year-old girl at Central City Shopping Centre.
The video shows Surrey Creep Catchers president Ryan Laforge grabbing the man by the neck and chest of his jacket, pulling him through the mall, and eventually cornering him against a wall outside.
The man asks Laforge to let go, but Laforge threatens him.
Mounties eventually arrived.
It’s unclear if the target of the sting had been arrested.
“It is what it is,” LaForge told Global News on Monday night. “Elderly men coming to have sexual encounters with small children, we’re going to get them arrested, and when they want to flee we’re going to hold onto them and detain them under the Citizen’s Arrest Act.”
Earlier this month, Surrey RCMP arrested and released Laforge after he got violent with another man who allegedly tried to solicit sex with a six-year-old child.
That video showed Laforge shoving the man multiple times against a wall.
The RCMP confirmed it was called to the 10100 block of King George Boulevard around 2 p.m. Monday, and that one man was arrested and released pending an investigation.
The RCMP continues to condemn online vigilantism.
