The president of the Surrey Creep Catchers is fighting back after a defamation lawsuit was filed against the group.
Ryan Laforge is named in the suit.
It comes after a video posted by the group on February 6.
An Abbotsford man claims accusations against him on social media are false, and that he’s been the subject of ridicule and his reputation has suffered.
Speaking to Global News Laforge, who wasn’t there at the time of the confrontation with the Abbotsford man, stands by his group.
“This is clear case of someone reaching dragging their own name through the mud more, only to be proven that it isn’t defamation.”
The group has previously been under scrutiny concerning wrong identities.
Laforge says he no longer posts images of people he’s trying to identify, and any civil claims made against him or his group won’t stop them from their work.
He says he hasn’t received a copy of the claim yet, and doesn’t plan on getting a lawyer.
