There are new developments in the case of a 2016 kidnapping that’s led to a homicide investigation.
Vancouver Police Constable Jason Doucette says homicide charges may be possible, with two people killed in Dieppe Place in East Vancouver in September.
Doucette says three people have now been arrested: they include Ellwood Thomas Bradbury and Matthew Scott Stewart, who were both arrested locally.
Erlan Lizandro Acosta was arrested with the help of U.S. Marshalls in Texas, and is now facing extradition.
Each is charged with kidnapping, unlawful confinement, aggravated assault, and two counts of extortion, but Doucette says the deaths are still being investigated.
“Our homicide detectives are working diligently to collect enough information to prove who’s responsible for it and that there’s a likelihood of conviction. We want to do it right the first time.”
Three other men allegedly involved were arrested in September in a dramatic incident where two bystanders were injured.
