The Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency has opened the doors for its first modular housing development.
The project will offer interim homes to 40 low-income people in the city at 220 Terminal Avenue.
The City of Vancouver offered land for the development, while the federal government and Vancity offered funding.
Federal Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Minister Responsible for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation Jean-Yves Duclos says the project is a model to that may interest people across the country looking for affordable rental options.

All of the suites have a bathroom and a kitchen, while the complex has shared laundry, indoor, and outdoor living spaces.
