A mother in Castlegar is fighting her son’s school to take action after he was allegedly forced to urinate in a can.
The boy’s mother says the 9-year-old feels humiliated after having to do so on a school bus.
Wanting to remain anonymous, the child’s mother says it happened on the way home from a school snowboarding trip to Red Mountain Resort.
She says he needed to use the bathroom when they were on the way back.
“My nine year old advised his teacher that he needed to use the washroom once, twice, three times.”
That’s when the teacher allegedly told the little boy to pee in a can, instead of stopping at a gas station.
The child’s mother says she spoke with the teacher and found out he allegedly had to hold the can the whole ride home.
“She was defensive, I think she knew right away that she was in the wrong.”
The child’s mother says the school district is cooperating with the complaint, adding she doesn’t think the teacher will be adequately punished.
