Eight children were treated for minor injuries after a school bus was hit by a small sedan this morning on the Lougheed Highway.
“[It was a] two vehicle collision, involving a smaller sedan and school bus,” says RCMP Constable James Mason.
Mason says it happened around 8:30 this morning on Lougheed Highway and Husband Road.
Sixty-two passengers were on board the bus, which was on its way to a local school when the accident happened.
Icy roads and the speed of the sedan are believed to have been involved in the crash, which closed Lougheed Highway for about two hours.
A spokesperson from the Fraser Valley Regions district confirms the bus involved is from the Sts’Ailes Community School.
