It wasn’t a white Christmas, but it was a very white December for the Lower Mainland with snow falling four times in four weeks.
More flurries are expected to hit the region on New Years Eve… but are cities ready for more?
Even though the region’s main salt suppliers won’t get any more salt until January, city officials in Surrey say they have enough.
The city currently has 7000 tons left.
During the first snowfall they used approximately 5000 for the roads.
This means cities could finish what’s left in their reserves before the next shipment arrives.
CKNW has reached out to officials with Vancouver and Burnaby for similar information, but have not received a response.
