The firings date back to 2012.
Lawyer Gary Caroline says his clients haven’t seen a single document involving the investigation.
“We went to ask the Ombudsperson for their old files to review, the Ombudsperson says he’s not there to provide that service.”
Caroline says the Ministry of Health has already received a 165 day extension, and the Ministry has asked for another.
“Last week, the Ministry of Health – six days before they were supposed to provide our clients with their documents – they asked for and received an extension.”
The Ministry requested an extension until September of next year, but the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner granted a 60 day extension.
Gary Caroline represents two of five fired workers, and the sister of a third who committed suicide.
