A 7.7-magnitude earthquake has struck near the Solomon Islands.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicentre was about 63 kilometres south of Kirakira.
The U.S. National Weather Service says the event has been reviewed and no Tsunami is expected.

A Tsunami warning was issued for Hawaii shortly after the quake, but it has since been cancelled.
A 5.5-magnitude aftershock was reported close to the epicentre about half-an-hour after the initial earthquake.
