B.C.’s policing watchdog has cleared a Chilliwack Mountie of any wrongdoing after a man died in custody.
The report from the Chief Civilian Director says police arrested a man high on drugs for causing a disturbance at the Uptown Grill restaurant in Chilliwack on April 6th of this year.
Shortly after he was placed in handcuffs, he stopped breathing.
A pathologist determined he died from the “toxic effects” of cocaine and meth.
The IIO says the Mountie did nothing wrong.
