Work continues behind the scenes at TransLink in anticipation of the Evergreen Line’s opening day – and part of that preparation includes comprehensive emergency training with first responders.
TransLink’s Chris Bryan says crews will be getting put through the paces this weekend.
“People will probably see people in their uniforms and see first responders there, we ask people not to be concerned or alarmed it’s just a normal part of our emergency response training,” he said.
Crews already had one trial run last weekend and will get a final drill next weekend.
TransLink says the training won’t affect any SkyTrain service, but might involve limited traffic disruptions around certain stations.
First responders routinely do this training featuring evacuation and rescue exercises.
