Legendary Canadian singer and songwriter Leonard Cohen has passes away at age 82, according to his verified Facebook page.
He was also a poet and author, and has been inducted into the Canadian Songwriter’s Hall of Fame as well as the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Cohen began writing and playing guitar, releasing folk-rock songs by the mid-1960s. One of his most famous songs is “Hallelujah,” released in 1984.
Cohen also received a Grammy Award for lifetime achievement in 2010.
His Facebook page says a funeral will take place in Los Angeles at a later date.
