An international student in a North Shore secondary school was arrested on Tuesday after threatening to harm a teacher with a gun.
Around 8:30 a.m., North Vancouver RCMP were made aware of the alleged threat and attended Seycove Secondary school.
Corporal Richard De Jong says nobody was injured in the incident.
“An international student threatened to bring a gun to the school and do harm to a teacher. Immediately our officers responded and worked with the administration staff to identify the individual.”
De Jong says the student is no longer in Canada.
“He was removed from class, arrested and subsequently he has now been removed from the school district and he has actually left the country.”
He says the student left on his own.
Police later recovered a revolver but would not say whether or not the weapon was found at the school.
A second student is also being questioned.
