The average Metro Vancouver household will be shelling out an extra 3.5% for services next year.
Households are expected to pay $452 in 2017 for services including water, waste and tipping fees. That’s $16 more than they paid this year.
The average water rate will increase by 3.2% which amounts to a $4 increase to the average household.
The sewer levy will increase by 5.5%, while the tipping fees for solid waste facilities is not expected to change.
The changes were presented in the 2017 budget, which the Metro Vancouver board received Friday.
The board will consider adopting the budget when it meets next week.
