Web streaming service Shomi says it is shutting down as of Nov. 30.
Shomi was a joint venture of Rogers and Shaw Communications.
The goal was to cut into the market dominated by Netflix, but it didn’t work out that way.
In a prepared release, the companies say the following.
“….customers who used Shomi loved it. It’s like a great cult favourite with a fantastic core audience that unfortunately just isn’t big enough to be renewed for another season.”
