Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson is reminding people where he stands on the city’s housing issues.
In a statement released Sunday morning, he says City Hall will be taking next steps on new tools to deal with the rental housing crisis.
This includes discussion of an empty homes tax, and possible regulations for Airbnb.
Robertson says he’d like to see more levels of government get involved.
That includes a request, once again, to have the B.C. Government make changes to the Residential Tenancy Act.
Robertson says it’s to ensure people don’t face “renovictions.”
