West Vancouver Firefighters successfully rescued an injured woman on the Whyte Lake trail near Horseshoe Bay.
Chief Jeff Bush says the woman was hurt about half an hour up the trail.
“The lady did fall, she sustained a moderate injury to her leg obviously not life threatening. Our crews did an extraction of her, got her into a basket stretcher and were able to get her out.”
Bush says the woman was prepared but he’s reminding people to always take a phone in case of an emergency.
“If you don’t have any method of communication, please make sure somebody knows where you’re hiking.”
Bush says it’s been a relatively quiet weekend for rescues so far — but things could change with the hot, sunny weather.
