A weekend drive through Stanley Park may not be as pleasant as it sounds.
It’s because Metro Vancouver officials will be shutting down a pair of southbound lanes.
Officials have spotted the leak, and now they have to patch it up.
Earlier, Metro Vancouver admitted a corroded pipe was leaking hundreds of thousands of litres of treated water in the area between the Stanley Park causeway and Lost Lagoon.
City officials said the spill had been going on for some time, but now this weekend’s fix should present a more long-term solution.
In the meantime, two lanes of southbound traffic will be shut down starting at 8:00 PM Friday, until early Monday morning.
The advisory says drivers should expect delays.
