Surf’s up, dude!
REVIVER Sport+Entertainment is proposing to build a multi-purpose surf and park urban beach called CitySurf.
They want to build the massive park between Science World and Creekside Park in Vancouver’s False Creek area.
The company wants to begin building within the next two-to-five years, with the company saying Vancouver lacks open ocean surf.
Along with appealing to surfers and water enthusiasts, their proposal says the park would also include a water filtration system the company claims would help clean the water to address what they call “a significant pollution problem in False Creek.”
WaveParks Canada, The Canadian Surfing Association and Surfing Canada are said to be behind the project.
REVIVER is in talks with the Vancouver Park Board, discussing their VanSplash Aquatics Strategy.
They are also talking with the City Of Vancouver, and Telus World Of Science.
