TransLink confirms it did receive warnings about the foiled terror plot in Ontario on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Anne Drennan says after it was notified by Mounties, TransLink added more Transit Police to its system.
Drennan says TransLink also made use of police dogs to conduct sweeps of SkyTrain stations.
She notes receiving information from officials about situations like this is not common.
Drennan says the information sharing that was involved in this situation is “an unusual case.”
VPD also alerted of terror threat
The Vancouver Police Department says it was also alerted by RCMP of the possible terror threat early Wednesday morning.
Constable Brian Montague says there was a “re-allocation of resources” in response.
“We do have the ability to take patrol officers or front line officers from one area to the city to the other if we were to get a call from the transit police to assist them somewhere, we would be able to reallocate our resources to do that.”
