Sydney, Beijing, London… and now Rio. It’s quite a resume.
“I’m just honored that I’m going to have the opportunity to represent Canada again.”
And that’s what MLA for Parksville-Qualicum Michelle Stilwell will be doing in this year’s Paralympic Games.

In fact, it will be Stilwell’s fourth appearance for Team Canada.
“I will be participating in the 100 metres and 400 metres on the track. Sadly, my strongest event is the 200 metres but it’s not being offered at these games.”
“Well I think I’m just really excited to be able to put on that Maple Leaf again, each games has had its own unique experiences and stories and part of that journey that I’ve been able to build off of.”
The decorated Olympian won gold with Team Canada in women’s wheelchair basketball in 2000 in Sydney, she also won gold in the 100 and 200 metre dash in Beijing and London.
