City workers in Coquitlam have gained the upper hand on a water main break, which was repaired at around six o’clock this morning.
It was first discovered at around nine o’clock last night at Glen Drive and Johnson Street.
Jamie Umpleby with the City of Coquitlam says while no residences were flooded, a small amount of water flowed into an underground parking facility adjacent to the intersection.
As for whether or not water quality will be affected.
“Just to remind residents in the area, if they do experience some dirty water, or cloudy water when they turn on the taps, to just let the taps run until the water clears. That would just be because the system was stirred up a little bit with the shutting down of mains.”
Johnson Street is expected to be fully reopened sometime between 10 and 11 am.
