Contrary to popular opinion, it turns out Millennials are happier about their jobs than Generation X’ers.
A new poll by Insights West set out to find out how truthful some of the myths behind working Millennials were.
“You hear about this in the media all the time; about the perceptions of youth in the workplace, that they’re unhappy, that all they care about is vacation time, and work-life balance, they don’t work as hard as the older generation. And we set out to quantitatively challenge those and see what we found.”
Steve Mossop with Insights West says Generation X’ers might be surprised to find out Millennials are not frustrated about their employment situation, and do not feel entitled to higher pay.
“We have some hard data now that shows that Millennials are actually quite satisfied with their current employers, and the workplace. And yes, they are concerned about vacation time, but everybody in British Columbia is concerned about vacation time.”
The survey polled more than 2,000 working Metro Vancouverites.
