A vital piece of BC Wildfire Services radio communications equipment has been vandalized on Thompson Mountain in the Kootenay region of eastern B.C.
Officials says the repair cost could run between $80,000 and $100,000 and the damage puts the safety of firefighting personnel at risk.
The radio equipment, which was accessible from the Thompson Rim Trail, was deliberately vandalized sometime between July 29 and Aug 2.
