Road crews in Langley are scrambling to repair a sinkhole on a major thoroughfare.
A storm sewer has collapsed on 200th at 68th in the southbound lanes.
The hole’s two meters by three meters and ten feet deep.
Director of Public Works Roeland Zwagg says thankfully it’s a dry day or things could have been worse.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this is an emergency we have to make sure the public is safe, close the road until such time it is safe to re-open it, we are just fortunate it is not raining today otherwise we would be dealing with some more problems.”
Crews hope to have the road open tomorrow morning.
